God`s faithfulness - 1 July 2026

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1, NIV
Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about things we cannot yet see with our natural eyes. This kind of faith enables us to trust God even when the outcome still feels uncertain. It is precisely here that gratitude plays an important role.
It is easy to be thankful when we have already received the answer to our prayers. When the door opens, healing comes, or provision becomes visible, we naturally feel gratitude. But faith calls us to a deeper level of gratitude, thanking God even before we see the answer. This gratitude is not based on visible results, but on trust in God’s character.
When we look back over our lives, we see many examples of God’s faithfulness. There were times when we did not know how things would work out, yet the Lord provided. There were moments of uncertainty, yet he gave direction. There were challenges that seemed impossible, yet God made a way. These memories strengthen our faith and give us reason to be grateful, even when our situation is still difficult and our prayers still seem unanswered.
Gratitude strengthens faith because it shifts our focus from our problems to God’s strength. The more we remember his goodness, the easier it becomes to trust him for the future. We begin to realise that the same God who carried us yesterday is with us today and will remain faithful tomorrow.
Faith does not mean that we have all the answers. It means that we know the one who does. Therefore, we can live with a grateful heart even in seasons of waiting and uncertainty. We thank God not only for what he does, but for who he is – loving, faithful, almighty and unchanging.
Today, look beyond your current circumstances, let faith lift your eyes to God’s promises and let gratitude fill your heart with trust. Thank the Lord for his faithfulness in the past and for his presence in the present. He is at work even when you cannot see it yet.
Prayer: Lord, thank you that I can trust you even when I do not understand everything. Thank you for your faithfulness through every season of my life. Strengthen my faith and help me to live with a grateful heart, even while I am still waiting for answers. May I always remember that you are good and that your promises stand firm. Amen.
