Who is God? - 3 March 2025

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; bring an offering, and come before him; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. 1 Chronicles 16:29, KJV
A single moment in God’s presence changed everything.
For Moses, it was the voice from a burning bush. For Jacob, it was a dream at Bethel. For Isaiah, it was a vision of God on his throne, surrounded by seraphim declaring: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty.” And for Saul, a voice from a brilliant light asked, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?”
Each of these encounters transformed their lives forever. The same is true for us. God created us to have a relationship with him. He longs to lead us, speak to us and reveal himself to us. All he asks is that we make time to seek him and listen.
1 Chronicles 16:29 reminds us, “Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; bring an offering, and come before him; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
Today, we don’t need to offer physical sacrifices to enter his presence – Jesus paid the price for us. Even more, he gave us the Holy Spirit as our guide and comforter.
This month, let’s intentionally seek God’s face. Let’s honour him for who he is and hold onto the promise of James 4:8 (NIV): “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” When we seek him, we will find him.
Prayer: Father God, thank you that I can draw near to you today, knowing that you created me for a relationship with you. Help me to set aside time to seek you and to listen when you speak. My heart longs to know you more. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
