DAY 4: A NEW BEGINNING…WITH NEW FAITH IN GOD’S PROMISES
By Benescke Janse van Rensburg
Are there promises in your life that God has given you long ago, but that have not been fulfilled yet? Are you praying for a baby, a financial breakthrough, for reconciliation with a loved one, improvement in your work environment or healing from an illness? Initially you were all fired up when you prayed, but if you have to be honest, doubt has started to creep in and you wonder if you will ever receive your breakthrough?
Listen again to the words in Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”
In the book Promissio Bund und, the Bartold Lappert author writes: “God never acts in a different way towards us than what is written in His Word. And people cannot try to act in a different way towards God than what is written in His Word.”

God’s Word and promises never change. Abraham was 100 years old and his wife, Sarah 90 when the promise of a baby came into fulfillment. Moses was 80 years old and a shepherd in the wilderness, when God spoke to him through a burning bush to send him to free the people of Israel from the land of Egypt. And Gideon went into battle with only 300 soldiers fighting a much larger army because he believed God’s promise of protection and victory – which did indeed happened.
With God there is no restrictions. His timing is always perfect. If you therefore continue to trust Him, stand on his Word and fight any thoughts that make you doubt, I can assure you that your breakthrough will happen exactly at the right time. And who knows, maybe 2012 will be the year in which you finally receive it!
Father God, thank you for being in control of every situation in my life. Help me to trust you and Your timing for every breakthrough. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen
