Have you ever woken up wondering how you are going to get through your "To Do" list for the day? At the beginning of this new week and (also a new school year), one may easily feel overwhelmed and wonder how you will be able to keep all the balls in the air.

In Joshua 10 we read of a battle between Joshua and the Israelites on the one hand and the Amorites on the other. Realizing that they needed more daylight to win the battle, Joshua asked God to do the impossible: to make the sun and moon stand still. God answered his prayer and it happened. The Israelites won that day.

When we feel overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done, we at times feel like asking God for those extra hours. He can still give it to us. He may not let the sun and moon stand still as for Joshua and the Israelites, but He does fill us through His Holy Spirit with wisdom, creativity and knowledge. With this we will be able to handle the obstacles much faster and more effectively - or we will completely miss them as God sees the future and knows what we need before we even ask Him.

In Proverbs 16: 1,3 we read: “To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Also in Proverbs 3: 6 we read: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Let us invite God into our day first thing in the morning - before the enemy tries to convince us that we are "too busy" to spend time with God. Let's ask Him to guide us - rather than just consult Him in a crisis. He stopped the sun and moon for Joshua. We may just stand amazed at what may follow when He fills us with wisdom, creativity and knowledge! God bless.

Father God, thank You that I may invite You into my day (and the school year). Please fill me with wisdom, creativity and knowledge in every situation. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
