Jesus came to offer mankind a way out - 24 April 2019

“Come to me, all ye who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew. 11:28
In this Eastertime, take a moment or two to think what Jesus’ death and resurrection mean to you.
Often, we see no way out in the cul-de-sac’s in which we find ourselves. When that happens, enter your inner sanctuary (literally or figuratively speaking), and turn your thoughts to the place you meet God. Call upon the Holy Spirit to assist you in prayer as you quieten your mind and soul.
Then imagine a pitch dark tomb with a heavy rock sealing the exit. You are completely wrapped in cloth and unable to make your way to the exit to roll away the stone. You are desperate to escape from the tomb. After a while you calm down and allow the Holy Spirit to make you aware what this private tomb has to say to your heart and soul. Then imagine Christ removing the shroud from your body. Suddenly you are freed from those emotions, thoughts and sins that have held you captive for so long. Move your limbs and experience a sense of freedom which allows you to rise. Follow Christ through the tunnel to where He removes the stone and you can walk free with Christ lighting the way out of the tomb.
Know and believe, that through the death of Christ, we are freed from the bondage of death and the rocks that press down on our soul.
Prayer: Lord, so often we weigh ourselves down with so many things that squeeze the life out of us. You invite us to lay down our burden and give us inner peace. Amen
