“I look to the mountains; where will my help come from? My help will come from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2, GNT

Have you ever noticed how quickly the sky changes when the sun goes down? The colours change in the blink of an eye from blue to streaky shades of orange, pink and purple. When the sky looks like a giant painting, I feel small and insignificant. The thing is, to notice it, you have to look up.

There are nine months of 2023 left. With Easter weekend approaching, I can hardly believe how quickly these first three months have gone by. Life will pick up speed again and yes, then the months will fly by.

We don’t know what else awaits us. The first three months of the year were by no means easy.

In the months to come, there will definitely be highlights – you may experience miracles and achieve goals. Maybe, there is an exciting holiday or an overseas trip awaiting you. There will certainly be challenges too.

I hope you, like me, can find comfort and reassurance in the beautiful words of Psalm 121.

And when things get tough, when things are harder than you expected, when life takes a turn that you did not see coming, always remember to look up.

Look up at the blue sky.

Look up when the sky turns orange at sunset.

Look up when the stars shine and the aeroplanes are moving like shooting stars across the sky.

You will then know where your help will come from. Remember that the Lord will protect you. He will keep you from falling, even if you feel small and worthless.

And I know, when it feels like your feet are slipping, our Father will carry you.

Prayer: Father, thank you for your endless love. Thank you for always being there for me and for always being ready to help me. Help me to never doubt your love and faithfulness. Amen
