This is the beginning of a new week. For some, this week is met with enthusiasm - a project finally begins after months of planning, a baby may be born, days are counted down to the wedding of your dreams. On the other hand, this week may be approached with a heaviness in you heart – big decisions need to be made, you may have to stand in the divorce court later this week or bury a loved one.

The contrasting weeks shape our lives, with one constant - God. He is there in the good, but also the challenging times.

In Psalm 127: 1 we are reminded: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” Also in Proverbs 3: 5-6 we read: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

May this be a good week for you in the midst of painful, stressful challenges, because we know that we worship the One who holds the future in his hands. May we remember that He is still capable of working everything together for the good of those who love Him. God bless.

Father God, thank you that I can dedicate my week to You. Please lead me through Your Holy Spirit to tackle every decision, project, and challenge with wisdom. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
