The market place in Galilee was filled with people. Some came out of desperation; others out of pure curiosity. Were all the stories about this Jesus true? In the middle of this crowd, a pale woman slowly moved forward. For 12 years, she had already begged God to heal her. It hadn’t happened yet. She had sold her belongings to pay for doctors - in vain. Yet, she came with a heart filled with hope and faith that one touch of Jesus can heal her. As she bends down to her knees to crawl closer to Jesus, she kept reminding herself, “one touch can change everything!”

In Luke 8:46-48, we read that Jesus, immediately after she touched his garment, turned around and asked, “Who touched me?” His disciples frowned. Why would He ask this if He knew that people were pushing against Him from all sides? In Luke 8:46 Jesus explained, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me” (Luke 8:46).

Jesus and the woman’s eyes met. In her eyes was fear. In his, love. He immediately knew what had happened. He understood. And He honored her faith. In Luke 8:48, He says to her “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” She was completely healed.

During difficult seasons in our lives, we need to remind ourselves that God is with us through his Holy Spirit. In Psalm 34:18, we read, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” And in Mark 11:24 Jesus said: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

What are you trusting God for today? A spouse or a baby? Maybe for restoration in your marriage, a promotion at work or your own home? Or perhaps you too need healing from your illness? One touch of God can change our lives forever. May we stay on our knees, while stretching out to touch Him. His eyes are still filled with love and He is still able to make the impossible, possible. God bless.

Father God, thank you that Your love sets me free. I bring to you today (name your challenge) and I trust that You are able to make the impossible, possible. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
