God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. Acts 2:32-33

What is the significance of Christ sitting at the right hand of God? It means that Christ, who became like one of us, and who is the representative of mankind, and who, having overcome the shame of the cross and ultimately defeating the enemy, now occupies the place of honour at the right hand of God.

Furthermore, He is given, as we read in Matthew 28:18, “All authority in heaven and on earth…”  One can imagine a collective sigh of relief emanating from heaven at the restoration of the relationship between God and mankind. He will have power and dominion over all creatures and all of creation and will be ordained as the King of all kings, and Lord of all lords. Ultimately heaven and earth will be one with the new Jerusalem coming down from heaven to earth: "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the earth had passed away." (Revelation 21:2- 4)

Prayer: Christ Jesus, with your death and resurrection you have planted in us the desire to renew our lives and to spread the news of your victory over death to all corners of the world. Amen
