There is a time for everything, and a season for everything under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1

When bad things happen we are fond of saying: "This too shall pass." Change is always imminent. Like a coin with two sides, life has a way of changing. Good seasons come and go, as do bad seasons. Good seasons of external blessing do not last forever in this life. Neither do bad times.

We know well from reading the Bible that David experienced terrible hardship of war and family strife where even his own son tried to kill him. Job had good seasons, but he is remembered for the awful time of oppression and loss he faced. Yet he was a righteous man. Do not assume that you are worse or more sinful than others if you suffer loss or go through trials.

Remember, stuff happens! We read in Genesis that “as long as the earth remains, there will be springtime and harvest, winter and summer, day and night." (Genesis 8:22).There are going to be seasons until Jesus returns and maybe beyond, so don't read too much into negative things that happen.

Prayer: Life has taught us, Lord that there will be times of hardship and loss, but we also know from your Word that your love and care are eternal. Amen
