Seasons: Sometimes, it’s summer - 24 October 2025

Charlea Grey

And when you have eaten enough, you must praise the Lord your God and thank Him for the good land that He has given you. Deuteronomy 8:10, The Bible for the Deaf

Life is not only made up of trials. Things are not always hard. We are not always stuck in a season of waiting that tests both patience and faith.

Sometimes, things go really well.

Sometimes, that new beginning in your life turns out to be better than you could have ever imagined. Sometimes, the darkness lifts much quicker than expected and you find yourself basking in sunlight.

Sometimes, it’s summer.

Moses reminded the Israelites not to forget God when things were going well. How true that still rings today.

When things are challenging, it’s easy to keep knocking on God’s door for help, guidance and protection. But when things are good and life feels light and beautiful – that is when we must be especially mindful of God’s presence.

We must praise and thank God for the things that are going well. It is important to thank him for the moments when we have less to worry about, when we are healthy, when we are safe and when we can enjoy our work or whatever is making life feel good and joyful.

Prayer: Father, thank you so much for when things go well. Thank you for being ever-present in those moments. Help me not to forget you and to remain grateful. Amen.
