All the days before me - 18 May 2023
Xanthe Hancox
Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:16, NIV
As I reflect on Psalm 139:16, I am reminded of the incredible truth that even before I took my first breath, God saw me. In his perfect wisdom and sovereignty, he meticulously planned each and every day of my life. Every moment, every joy, every challenge, and every opportunity were carefully written in his book.
This realisation fills me with awe and wonder. It reminds me that my life is not a result of mere chance or circumstance, but a part of God's intentional design. Every season I have experienced, every triumph and setback, every success and failure, all serve a purpose in his grand plan.
Yet, amidst the ups and downs, it's easy to lose sight of this truth. We may question the direction of our lives, feel uncertain about the future, or even doubt our worth. But in those moments, we can find solace and reassurance in knowing that God's hand is guiding us.
Today, I choose to surrender my worries and anxieties about the unknown. I trust that God, who has intricately woven my story, is faithful to guide me in his perfect timing. Let’s embrace each day, knowing that God's purposes are at work, and his plans for us are good.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am in awe of your intimate knowledge and perfect plan for my life. Thank you for the assurance that you have already ordained and written every one of my days. May I find peace and purpose in knowing that my life is securely held in your loving hands. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
