Being full-time in the ministry is challenging at times. You bear not only the burdens of your congregation members, but also your own. Today I want to share a testimony from a person in ministry for whom I have a lot of respect.

Tertius: “My heart was heavy when I walked outside around 19:00 that evening. It was already getting dark. Behind our house there is an open field with a play area. I walked over there while having a serious conversation with God. The burden on my shoulders was heavy.

“In our congregation we needed a large amount of money to send mission teams to Afghanistan and Pakistan. The deadline to pay for the plane tickets and visa applications was imminent and we did not have the money.

“Apart from the mission outreach, our child was ill. We had to get medication from the pharmacy and pay doctors and we also did not have the money for that.

“Up to that point we had experienced several times that God had provided for us, but that evening I needed Him to strengthen my faith. My heart was hurting and the burden was heavy.

“While I was still talking to God, I became aware of a wind blowing in my direction from the other side of the play area. I was wearing shorts and felt something blowing against my legs. My first thought was that it was leaves. Surprised, I saw that it was a banknote at my feet. As I looked up at the direction from which the wind had been blowing, I saw another two bank notes rolling in my direction.

“The total amount was not much, but it was enough to fill my heart with faith with the knowledge that God was still in control. We were able to pay for my child's medication at the pharmacy with the money and it was not long before we experienced how God opened doors so that we could buy the mission outreach teams' tickets and also pay my child's doctor's bills. God is truly good!”

Tertius is right. God is the Creator of the universe, but He is also involved in the detail of our lives. Sometimes we need to remind one another of the promise in Philippians 4:6-7: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

God is our Provider. He wants us to talk to Him about everything that is bothering us so that He can give us peace and show us what He can do. God bless.

Father God, thank you that I can talk to you about all my concerns. I bring to you (name your specific needs). Please fill me with peace that transcends all understanding. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
