I like God because nothing can separate me from him
Danny Fourie
… neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:39
God has adopted us as his children. From the very beginning it was his intention, we heard yesterday. And now there is still more good news: How much grief I may have caused God, his love for me will always be and never becomes less. Can you believe it that God likes you just as much at the moment you are badmouthing someone in the dirtiest language and at the moment you take part in a Bible study lesson? Not? Well, it is exactly like that. God always likes you all of the time.
What you do or try to do, God likes you. How can I be so sure? Because he said so himself. How high we may rise or how deep we may have fallen, there is nothing in the universe that can separate us from his love – that love we were given in Christ.
Is that not an awesome statement? It does not matter what we do. Really? It is time to stop asking this question. Nothing, nothing, nothing can separate us from God’s love.
Oh, so now I can do whatever I want to, God loves me anyway. Nice, now you begin to understand something of God’s love for you. A love that hopefully makes such an impression on you that you realize that you can do anything without jeopardizing God’s love for you. A love that hopefully at the same time makes such an impression on you that you no longer want to do anything anymore that grieves the God who loves you so unconditionally.
God wants to be a Father to you and me. He adopted you and me to take care of us with the sincere wish that we will be happy with him.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for the great love with which you love me. Help me to not hurt you anymore, but to answer with my life to your wonderful love. Amen
