After yesterday's piece a number of readers testified to having experienced similar miracles. Here is an excerpt from a reader, André Bruyns that I received yesterday:
André: “I arrived at work this morning in a depressed mood. I work on commission basis and thus far (February 25), I haven’t sold anything, which means no money at the end of the month. What makes the situation worse is that my wife is currently at home as she is going to give birth to our first child (a son!) on Friday morning! The stress is getting the better of me.
I read the piece that was about God’s ability to move a mountain out of the way. I decided to, just as the guy in the story, ask God for a miracle. After pouring my heart out in front of him, I began praising Him with a song about his goodness.
Within 10 minutes I received a call from a client with an order that needed to be delivered on Monday morning. In absolute awe I thanked God. In just 10 minutes He intervened and made my month successful! To Him be the glory! "
Andre is right. God can calm any storm in seconds. What is your reaction when that storm continues longer than you hoped for?
Habakkuk and Job both stayed positive, trusting God for their breakthroughs. Listen to Habakkuk’s words in Habakkuk 3:17-18: “Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labour of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation." Job also didn’t turn his back on God amidst the hardest time of his life. Because of this, he saw God. Listen to his words in Job 42:5: "Until now I have only heard of You, but now I have seen you. . . "
What miracle do you need today? Let’s praise God like Habakkuk and Job in the midst of the storm. This enables us to look past the challenges and see God's greatness. It also creates an atmosphere in which God does miracles. Keep trusting God. Your current challenge might be what is needed to, like Job, rediscover God. God bless.
Father God, thank you for the strength in praise and worship. Please help me today to deliberately choose to praise you amidst my storm. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
