Today's piece is short. My hope is that it will make you think. Meditate on the Word and write down what it means to you.

I recently paged through a large book which halted me on a double spread page with only one question on it. It read:

“The murdered. The murderer. Who does God love most?”

We are quick to judge until we find ourselves in a situation that we need God’s grace. In John 3:16 we are reminded: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” In Romans 5:8 we read: “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” And in Romans 8: 38-39 we read: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

God is love. He gave His only Son to die for us so our relationship with Him could be restored. May we daily live in such a way that we demonstrate towards Him how grateful we are for this gift! God bless.

Father God, thank you for giving us Your only Son, so we do not perish, but can receive eternal life. Please help us to discover and experience this love in a fresh way in our lives. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
