For the past five years Beijing, China has been struggling with air pollution due to a cloud of smog hanging over the city. In January this year, Chinese authorities issued a code orange alert as air pollution reached crisis proportions. Apart from the nose and mouth guards people constantly carry with them on the street, the recent crisis caused some of the city's schools to suspend their outdoor activities as it was too dangerous for the children.

In view of the above, it was good news when the minister of environmental protection announced that the Smog Free Tower, designed and installed by the Dutch Studio Roosegaarde, was working. It was found that air around the tower is 55% cleaner than before.

In our lives, we sometimes experience seasons or situations that feel as if smog is hanging around us. We struggle to make good decisions and at times feel as if worry about a particular crisis suffocates us. In Revelation 21:5 we read: "He (God) who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!'" Also in 1 Peter 5: 7, we read: "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." And in Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, "Come unto Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

In the presence of I AM, we find healing and salvation. He removes the "smog" and helps us to look forward with a new vision. He quiets our hearts and fills us with joy, peace and hope. Let us choose deliberately today to cast our cares upon Him, knowing that He takes control. God bless.

Father God, thank You that I can rest assured that You already know my future. Help me to trust you - especially when it feels as if worries push every breath of air out of my lungs. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
