When justice isn't done and crime is not brought to book swiftly and seems to flourish, people lose their respect for the law.

When we see criminals commit crime after crime without being punished, it makes us want to start a life of crime. The writer of Ecclesiastes asks,

Why do people commit crimes so readily? Because crime is not punished quickly enough. Ecclesiastes 8:11

Yet, believers should still trust in God.

A sinner may commit a hundred crimes and still live. … “If you obey God, everything will be all right, but it will not go well for the wicked. Their life is like a shadow and they will die young, because they do not obey God.”   Ecclesiastes 8:12-13

You will put them in slippery places and make them fall to destruction!  Psalm 73:18

As believers we are not called to conform to the world but to show the world a better way of living. Let God be your judge.

Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God — what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect. Romans 12:2

In conclusion, my brothers and sisters, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable.  Put into practice what you learnt and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me not to conform to the world and that through your Holy Spirit I will be able to know your will and to do the things you want me to do. Amen
